The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists maintains professional relationships with several independent, autonomous and subsidiary organizations. These organizations include the councils (The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, The Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, and the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists, the Council for Public Interest in Anesthesia), the AANA Foundation, the International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists (IFNA), and the state nurse anesthetist associations.
