The AANA Foundation and Research Department promote and facilitate the knowledge and utilization of research in anesthesia, and support professional development. The department is responsible for consulting on research matters, assessing current research being conducted, and targeting research topics based on trends identified in the AANA and AANA Foundation's strategic plans.
Through the AANA Foundation, the department manages the process of identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting potential sources of gifts and grant support for research and education.
Activities typically supported by the AANA Foundation include student scholarships, CRNA fellowships, and research awards. Financial resources to support the AANA Foundation come from generous contributions from AANA members, AANA state association support, individuals and corporations.
